The 600 Series is CTA’s first fully electric bus fleet, made by Proterra starting in 2020. These buses run on battery power only, with zero emissions. They are quiet, smooth, and have a futuristic design. The 600s are currently being tested on select routes as CTA plans for a fully electric fleet by 2040.
