The BNSF line runs from Union Station to Aurora, Illinois. On weekdays, there are 44 trains inbound and 47 outbound. The BNSF Railway has an agreement with Metra that states that BNSF staff will run operations, but Metra fares, equipment, and branding is used. An extension to Kendall County has been proposed. The trains run on BNSF tracks, and in addition to Metra and BNSF Freight trains, several Amtrak trains run on these tracks. The line had the highest ridership in the Metra system in 2024.
