The Union Pacific North Line runs from Ogilvie Transportation Center to Kenosha, Wisconsin. It is currently the only line that goes out of Illinois. On weekdays, 35 trains run inbound and 36 run outbound. The Green Bay Trail parallels the Union Pacific North Line, using the former right of way of the North Shore Line for over 51.9 miles from the Chicago Loop to Kenosha, Wisconsin. The line saw a ridership of about 337,500 people in 2024.
I personally think an extension to Racine, Wisconsin would be good, but if Metra did that, we might as well have Metra trains to Milwaukee 🤣 (I mean, come on, there is like a 0.000000000001% chance they will do that)
